On Thursday late evening, January 12, 2023 at 10:46 PM, the North Callaway School District administration was made aware of a threat of violence, toward the North Callaway High School, being shared via a social media platform.  School administration immediately contacted the Callaway County Sheriff's Office and a criminal investigation was initiated.  Swift action was taken to identify the source of the threat.  At 12:03 AM, a Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputy located the juvenile suspect at a residence in northern Callaway County.  The juvenile was taken into custody, transported to the Sheriff's Office and later released to the authority of the Callaway County Juvenile Office.  School will be in-session today with an increased law enforcement presence, supporting the learning environment and hopefully calming any remaining fears.  The Sheriff expresses his utmost appreciation to the school administration for their immediate call, cooperation and assistance in the investigation.  Teamwork is a must in situations as these.
