Inmate Property Intake

Upon admission into the Callaway County Jail, an inmate's personal property is inventoried and secured within a sealed inmate property bag. Any items that may be considered as contraband will be destroyed. Any illegal items will be seized for criminal investigation and referral to the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney for applicable criminal charges. During an inmate's incarceration, should they wish to release personal property to a second person (outside the facility), the inmate shall complete a property transfer request that will be considered by the Jail Administrator or a Jail Lieutenant. Note, only the Jail Administrator and Jail Lieutenants are authorized to release personal property, thus a delay in processing may occur. Additionally, personal clothing will NOT be released absent special circumstance as approved by the Jail Administrator.
